This one-day hands-on workshop will review statistical tools for describing and modeling evaluation data with a focus on the SPSS statistical package. The first part of the workshop will focus on descriptive statistics, both numerical and graphical, used to create visual or numerical summaries of data. The remaining time will concentrate on reviewing tools for making statistical inferences. Participants will also review various statistical tests with categorical or continuous data, including models such as t-tests, chi-square tests, multiple regression, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The review of each of the statistical tools will include a short introduction of its purpose, illustration of its implementation in statistical software, and an explanation of the interpretation of the output generated by the software. Participants will be given the opportunity to practice implementing these statistical tools using software during the workshop. Instructor: Dr Kim Maier
