Over the years, evaluators and researchers have recognized the value of capturing lived expertise and community voice to understand better how to solve complex social change problems. This session will explore concepts for measuring impact in social change initiatives and explore ways to re-think how community context can be used to define success. In addition, the Emergence Collective team will explore how participatory practices can be embedded in the learning and evaluation process when developing impact models and performance indicators.

EC Bio: Emergence Collective (EC) is a small women-owned collective consultancy committed to using intentional collaboration and emergent strategy to design participatory and data-driven learning processes. With team members based across the country, we work together with a flat, network-based organizational structure under the assumption that for us to be effective, our work must reflect equity, justice, and collaboration.
